About Quicksilver Running

Quicksilver Running organises quality mass participation events designed for runners of all abilities.

We aim to provide all entrants with an enjoyable race experience and the potential to perform at the top of their expectations. Our current portfolio covers distances from 8 to 20 miles including two Half Marathons.

All races organised by Quicksilver running are on professionally measured courses certified by the Association of UK Course measurers. The races are run under licence from the UKA.

About KBC Special Events Limited

KBC Special Events limited was formed in 2003 to manage a number of corporate sports events including The Property Football Cup, the Construction Rugby 7’s and a series of industry sector 5 a side tournaments. The company also managed the IHA Secure and Specialist Care series of Business to Business events within the Healthcare Sector.

In 2013 KBC launched its first mass participation running event, the Harry Hawkes 10. Further race launches quickly followed and the company became fully focussed on organizing running events. In 2018 this move was reflected in the change of operating name to Quicksilver running.

Peter Wedderburn

Peter Wedderburn

Peter is Events Director and the founder of the company. Peter previously worked in management as a former Publishing Director with Reed Elsivier and in Business Consultancy roles within publishing. He has extensive experience in Event Management. Peter is a keen runner and as well as organising races regularly takes part in them. He is a member of The Stragglers Running Club and assists within the club in the organisation of races such as the Green Belt Relay and the River Relay, of which he is Race Director.

Jennie Brereton

Jennie Brereton

Events Manager and has worked with the company for 4 years since completing a Degree in Sport Science at St Marys University. Jennie runs primarily for fitness, her main sport being football. She is currently playing with Actonians Ladies FC.
